Dweller 1.7.5 - now with your map pieces!

Just a quick announcement that version 1.7.5 of Dweller was released today. The new version has reduced stair spawn rate somewhat, but more importantly it also includes the user generated map pieces posted here on the blog. Thanks a lot for the contributions. Keep the maps coming!

  1. Hi Björn!

First of all thanks for your great work so far. Really enjoying the game!

Unfortunately, since the 1.7.5 update the app crashes reliably each time I try to start it. I'm running it (or rather trying to run it) on my mobile, which is an HTC Desire with Android 2.2.

To me it seems like you did a small update after the actual 1.7.5 update, is that correct? If that is so, then this last update is the problem. The update right before that one (which was also labeled 1.7.5, if I remember correctly) worked, even though I experienced some massive lag when entering a new level (like, more than 5 seconds).

  2. "...massive lag when entering a new level (like, more than 5 seconds)" - I confirm. The lags that's not good :(
Second moment, the game became too much easy. Check it.

  4. I have yet to extensively test this version with reduced stair spawn rate, but up until now it's safe to say classes seem pretty unbalanced to me. I mean, I've finished the game twice with a wizard with persistent levels, but not once with a ranger/warrior in either level types.
Might there be something I'm doing wrong?

  5. By the way, the game works perfectly on a Samsung C3300K Champ, but I'm not really sure why the bottom menu still has the ranged tab even when playing a warrior/wizard or the magic ones when playing a warrior.

  6. Hi, thanks for the game :) I think I found a little bug: found a Knightly Deadly Chainmail armour with description: "It incrases your speed" but in stats it has Speed: -1 (-1)

  7. Not necessarily.. the increase might be from a large minus for an equipment from its class to a value closer to zero. The (-1) compares it to what you currently have equipped.

  8. Warlock554 is correct. A normal Chainmail has a speed penalty of -2 or -3 (can't remember). The Knightly Deadly Chainmail you found has a smaller movement penalty of only -1. The (-1) is what you currently have equipped.

I do however feel that the message is slightly odd, since it doesn't actually increase your speed. It should say something like "It is lighter than an average Chainmail armor" or something to that effect.

  9. @Anonymous: No, you are probably doing things right. The game is most likely a bit unbalanced. The question is: Is it too easy with a Wizard or too hard with a Warrior/Ranger?
