I finally got around to releasing a version of Dweller with improved menu scrolling. The scrolling is now smooth and much more precise. Depending on your device, get it from Roguebasin or from the Android market.
menu scrolling is bugged. if list is small - it just moves up and down on the screen when i scroll it, but when trading with merchant - entire list goes down behind the edge of the screen.
I did not see contact info anywhere. I'm interested in game design myself, and if you could spare some time, was hoping to exchange some emails with you...
it seems to scroll the wrong way in the j2me version. Also no wraparound.
ReplyDeleteThe font size in character and level selection may be a bit large.
Yes, the wrap around went missing when I redid the menus. It will be brought back in the next version.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the font size the same in all menus?
Also, are you saying that when you hit 8 on your handsets keypad it scrolls up, not down?
The font size is the same, but the size makes longer texts not fit on screen.
ReplyDeleteAnd the menu scrolls down when i reach the bottom of the screen, resulting in a gap up top and the highlighted entry going off screen.
Not sure is anyone else is using a blackberry to play, but version 1.7.8 will not install OTA. Comes up as an invalid JAR.
ReplyDeleteTrying to figure out a workaround, but for now I will have to stick with 1.7.7

ReplyDelete@Bob: Hmm, I'll have a look at the J2ME version and try to figure out what could be different.
ReplyDelete@Anon: What handset/screen res do you have?
Screen res is 240x320. Another problem - now i can't scroll a list from top element to bottom by pressing up(2).
ReplyDeleteA new version has been released. It should fix all known issues with the menus. Please try it and let me know what you think.
